The SCAT Safety Cap I, GL/S40, 1 x Absperrhahn is a hermetically sealing safety cap for safe HPLC solvent supply on laboratory bottles with GL/S40 thread. 1 capillary port enables clean routing of solvent tubing directly to the HPLC system. The installed air valve opens under vacuum and provides controlled, filtered air intake into the bottle. The integrated shut-off valve allows safe disconnection or blocking of individual lines. This reduces solvent vapors, improves occupational safety and optimizes laboratory processes in analytics, chemistry and pharma.

Details

The SCAT Safety Cap I with GL/S40 thread and integrated shut-off valve is a supply safety cap for HPLC solvent supply on laboratory bottles. The single capillary connection directs the solvent line directly to the HPLC system; the shut-off valve allows targeted blocking of this connection without unscrewing the cap. The Cap I is suitable wherever an eluent storage container has exactly one capillary line leading to the HPLC system. Typical applications are analytics, chemistry and pharmaceuticals. The GL/S40 thread is a widely used standard and allows direct combination with laboratory bottles of this thread type. The Safety Cap I is screwed onto the laboratory bottle. Supplied PFA fittings in outer diameters of 1.6 mm, 2.3 mm and 3.2 mm allow flexible adaptation to common capillary diameters. The ventilation valve opens under negative pressure and allows filtered air to flow into the bottle; uncontrolled vapour release is thereby limited. The bottle and Safety Cap I together form a closed supply system for low-emission HPLC operation. The change indicator documents the replacement date of the ventilation valve and supports plannable maintenance intervals. The shut-off valve allows blocking of the capillary line without completely unscrewing the cap – useful for system changes or brief operational interruptions.
