The SCAT activated carbon exhaust filter S adsorbs solvent vapours and supports a safe, low-emission laboratory environment. The multi-layer filter filling combines specialised activated carbons for solvent vapours as well as acidic and alkaline components. This means that not only typical organic vapours from HPLC waste are adsorbed, but also small acid and alkali fractions from eluents and mobile phases. The high-performance activated carbon with an internal surface area of up to 1500 m²/g and a CTC value of >90 % stands for high adsorption capacity and long service life. With integrated splash guard, change indicator and up to 3 months service life. Replacement pack of 4 pcs.

Details

The SCAT S Activated Carbon Exhaust Filter with GL14 thread is used on the waste side of HPLC systems. It screws directly onto the SCAT Safety Waste Cap and captures escaping solvent vapors before they reach the laboratory air. The activated carbon adsorbs organic solvent vapors and additionally binds acid and alkaline vapors. At the same time, the filter acts as a pressure-relief valve, enabling safe, low-emission pressure equalization at the collection container. This allows the occupational exposure limits under TRGS 900 for toxic solvents such as methanol or acetonitrile to be reliably met, significantly improving laboratory safety. The integrated splash guard prevents solvent residues from splashing back, while the change indicator signals in good time when the filter is due for replacement. With a service life of three months, full protection is maintained throughout the entire period of use. This replacement pack contains the filter including the splash guard and change indicator (pack of 4) and is designed for scheduled, regular replacement.
